Do we know Mallorca?

It seems a paradox that one of the most important tourist destinations in the Mediterranean can be found rural areas as attractive and well preserved as the interior of Mallorca.
Mallorca has an extensive network of roads. There are paths that go back to the Arab period; others cross the forest and were used by coal miners and for communications between peoples. Hiking in Mallorca, we can find places of beauty and fabulous stories and legends. Roads open to smugglers from where you get the most inaccessible places on the coast, coastal watchtowers built in the sixteenth century to defend themselves from attacks by Turkish pirates, terraces and infrastructures that were used to cultivate and collect water that remain from the Muslim era.
Many of the routes through the heart of the Sierra de Tramuntana, the natural emblematic of the island and cross cliffs, cliffs and streams, along paved roads or paths of goats.
In the Tramuntana mountains found in a few kilometers, mountains that rise from 0 to 1,436 meters, where almost all the peaks are accessible through the paths that lead to the snow pits.
In the rest of the island is also an important network of roads that run along the softer profiles of the Tramuntana mountains, but with a charm ethnological and cultural surprises by its wealth.
